MoWrOw’s News and Funz BLARG!!!: 2012 in review

This is pretty neat, custom site stats in the shape of a wondeful animated brochure; thanX WordPress!!!

The WordPress.com stats helper monkeys prepared a 2012 annual report for this blog.

Here’s an excerpt:

The new Boeing 787 Dreamliner can carry about 250 passengers. This blog was viewed about 1,500 times in 2012. If it were a Dreamliner, it would take about 6 trips to carry that many people.

JibJab Year in Review 2012: The End is Here

I was at JBR beach, and there were some shellingz 8|

OK OK it was fireworks, but they were real close, only around 30 meters from me :O Sow close that I felt like I had to retreat to avoid possible injury 😛 My cell was low on battery and mom called at the same time of filming sow this is all I got haHah.

Anyway I was not too far from Atlantis’ 2013 fireworks and some other place’s too. Sow had 3 firework shows in 1 row haHah XD

Other than that, I walked around JBR for 3 hours, and witnessed some of the celebrations.

Hilton hotel had half the beach blocked for some live concert :/

Meydan Beach’s Cafe Del Mar had some fire joggling, along with the some House music. THey said they sold out all seats, with 1,800 tickets sold a day before the event, and were closing off sales at noon the same day, standing tickets.

Habtoor Grand and Royal Meridien weren’t sow annoying; they were playing some oldies and swinging 60’s, with a huge screen with donowot on it.

2011 is history, 2013 is a mystery, and 2012 is … a barrage of fireworks!

I watched Burj Khalifa fireworX live and in person for the very first time.

The Burj Khalifa fireworX are not only amazing due them coming out the building (in perfect syncrhonization), but due to the blinding brightness displayed using the primary colors, and the multitude of colored fireworks used at the same time, coming out of the tower! 😯

Walked a minimum of 3:30 hours today, to and from JBR twice, and to the restaurants at Souq Al Bahar (nearby Burj Khalifa) from the Business Bay bus stop, and along JBR’s entire beach, before and after sunrise.

Went by car to Business Bay metro station to get to Burj Khalifa while avoiding the traffic and parking woes. The metro would not stop at Burj Khalifa metro station (due to excess crowds they said), so stopped at the next metro station being DIFC. From there the bus took us back to Business Bay, for a half hour walk to Burj Khalifa 8/

Burj Khalifa New Year (2012) fireworks in full

Burj Khalifa New Year (2011) fireworks in full

2011’s Burj Khalifa New Year fireworks had more fire, lasers and fountains than 2012’s, which basically only had fireworks 8S

I wonder how it is like for people staying at Burj Khalifa.

On another note, this year, Dubai Metro operated until 5.30am yesterday. Its stations were packed with huge volumes of commuters.

People were directed by security to head for the Dubai Metro, but allowed entry only from one of the sides. After waiting at the “wrong” side for 30 minutes or more, people had to walk another two to five kilometres [to the other exit].

According to the Roads & Transport Authority, the total number of commuters who used the metro for the New Year was ~ 415,000.

Good thing iZmart and decided to neither rely on the metrow nor on the car by leaving the car within walking distance of Burj K ;D
